To qualify for the GS-09, you must meet one of the requirements described below:
Specialized Experience: I have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level or pay band in the Federal service that includes performing the following duties: Assisting in writing and developing articles, news releases, and social media posts; drafting reports, talking points, briefing packets and power point presentations; assisting others in the use of social media, radio, television, newspapers, fact sheets, and/or the internet within an organization; and researching organizational programs, activities and/or functions for the preparation of communications to general audiences.
Education: You must have completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 years of education leading to such a degree.
Combination of Education and Experience: You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate graduate education. Graduate level education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.
To qualify for the GS-11, you must meet one of the requirements described below:
I have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level or pay band in the Federal service that includes performing the following duties: Writing and developing articles, feature stories, news releases, and social media posts; composing reports, talking points, briefing packets and power point presentations; planning, designing, and preparing visual informational material (i.e., infographics, brochures, or interpretive panels) related to a program. Analyzing and evaluating data and making appropriate recommendations. Developed interpersonal relation skills sufficient for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with diverse audiences and the media.
Education: You must have completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 years of education leading to such a degree.
Combination of Education and Experience: You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate graduate education. Graduate level education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.
To qualify for the GS-12, you must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level or pay band in the Federal service that includes performing the following duties: Writing, developing and finalizing articles, feature stories, news releases, and social media posts; composing reports, talking points, briefing packets and power point presentations; planning, designing, and preparing visual informational material (i.e., infographics, brochures, or interpretive panels) related to a program. Developing and executing communications plans and strategies. Providing guidance and oversight on communication programs. Communicates in a timely fashion with diverse audiences and the media and establishes and maintains effective working relationships. Analyzing and evaluating data and making appropriate recommendations and implementing plans to resolve public affairs programs in various program areas.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education
To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you
