Credit Analyst II

This position is responsible for analysis and monitoring the financial condition and credit worthiness of individuals and businesses applying for credit by using historical financial analysis and cash flow projections.

Major duties and responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing all relevant loan data on new, renewal and existing loans
  • Preparing memos, spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions for Loan Officers
  • Managing the bank's exposure to identified risks
  • Overseeing and managing financial information files
  • Establishing, reviewing and updating loan files
  • Providing technical advice and assistance to Loan Officers
  • Performing credit inquiries

Additional duties include:

  • Effectively communicating with Customers, Loan Officers, and Bank Management
  • Generating solutions to problems and suggesting alternative solutions
  • Participating in Bank-wide projects
  • Managing a high volume of loan activity
  • Creating and maintaining solid working relationships with Loan Officers and other team members
  • Assisting in the training and development of Credit Analyst I

Employee specifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of credit analysis experience
  • Six months experience with credit systems
  • Specific area of underwriting expertise in one or more areas of lending
  • Knowledge of accounting sufficient to understand and analyze the relationships between the different financial statements
  • Strong financial analytical abilities, with knowledge of financial ratios
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to structure and underwrite larger, more complex transactions
  • Excellent interpersonal, technical, problem solving, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates initiative, judgment/discernment and self motivation to work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrates resourcefulness and concern for quality by understanding systems and processes and suggesting changes when necessary to increase overall efficiency
  • Demonstrates dependability through good attendance and adherence to time lines and schedules
