Description of Job Function:

This position is responsible for ensuring the technical integrity, regulatory accuracy, and instructional excellence of the AIB Training portfolio. This role serves as the subject matter authority, ensuring all learning content remains technically correct, current, and aligned with industry expectations. This role requires in-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, industry's best practices and learning and instructional design skills.

This role provides technical governance, expert validation and advanced learning design leadership to support scalable, compliant and high-quality training solutions.

Responsibilities:

Technical Authority & Governance

• Act as the Subject Matter Authority for the food safety learning portfolio, maintaining full technical understanding of all training programs and services.
• Ensure all training content is technically accurate, up to date, and compliant with applicable food industry regulations, standards, and certification schemes.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on existing learning content.
• Establish and maintain technical review and approval processes.

Training Content Quality & Accuracy

• Coordinate and validate that all training materials meet food industry technical requirements and best practices.
• Partner with corresponding teams to ensure learning content remains accurate and aligned to AIB guidelines and or, 3rd Party requirements.
• Provide expert input during content updates and revisions.

Instructional Design & Learning Experience

• Apply adult learning principles and learning UX best practices.
• Lead instructional approaches including microlearning, simulations, and scenario-based learning.
• Translate complex technical content into structured, engaging learning experiences.

Portfolio-Level Support & Enablement

• Support cross-functional teams by providing technical validation and instructional design expertise.
• Enable faster updates and releases through standardized technical frameworks.

Capabilities & Expertise

• Bachelor's or higher in Food Science or a closely related field is required.
• Strong understanding of GMPs, HACCP, FSMA, and other key food safety regulations.
• Strong understanding of compliance and audit expectations.
• Expertise in instructional design and adult learning theory.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into learning solutions.
