Job description

Description:

The Plant Controller is a senior, hands-on finance leader and a core member of the local leadership team, partnering closely with the President, Production Manager, Procurement, and corporate finance. This role owns the day-to-day execution of plant accounting while driving stronger financial discipline, operational insight, and scalable processes across the business.

The Plant Controller is responsible for financial statement preparation and review, reporting and analysis, product costing, key performance metric monitoring, and active management of working capital and cash flow. This position plays a critical role in strengthening financial visibility at the plant level and translating financial results into clear, actionable insights for operational and executive leaders.

In addition, the Plant Controller oversees, develops, and mentors accounting and administrative staff and serves as a key resource to shop floor leadership on the accurate and effective use of the Company's ERP system. The ideal candidate is both strategic and detail-oriented, comfortable working in the weeds while also stepping back to improve processes, controls, and decision-making.

This role offers the opportunity to have a direct, visible impact on plant performance while partnering with corporate leadership on broader financial and operational initiatives in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred
  • 7–10 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of standard cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing operations
  • Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
  • Experience with ERP systems (GSS or similar)
  • Ability to explain financial information to non-financial leaders
  • Proven leadership and process improvement experience
