The Merchandise Leader will manage one or more assigned departments and will lead the team in bringing to market consumer relevant product that delivers against strategic, financial, and brand equity objectives. They will be accountable for product strategy, achieving financial goals and ensuring our customers receive outstanding service for one or more business across catalog, retail and web.

Responsibilities

  • Drives product assortment strategies to deliver sales and margin forecasts.
  • Drives calendar to meet critical dates.
  • Interpret and apply consumer and competitive insights to all aspects of the business.
  • Leads weekly business cross-functional meetings, driven to action points to achieve sales plans and margin.
  • Actively participate in financial review meetings through challenging and identifying corrective action necessary to maximize sales & margin.
  • Present POV in meetings with senior management.
  • Offers a strong POV in weekly product development meetings.
  • Communicates with vendors for product, pricing execution and timely receipts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline (8+ years of combined college education and retail experience may be substituted for a degree).
  • Minimum 5 years direct merchandising experience working at a retailer or marketer.
  • Strong strategy and leadership skills.
  • Track record of success in leading strategic business planning.
  • Highly developed financial business acumen
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to drive innovation and collaboration.
  • Develops category product strategies.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word & Excel).
