Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, the Senior Accountant is crucial in ensuring accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and contributing to the overall health of the company. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles and banking regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting:
• • Prepare accurate and compliant monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual report and disclosures.
  • Conduct variance and trend analysis to identify insights, potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting process, providing insightful data and recommendations for financial planning.
• Regulatory Reporting:
• • Preparation of the regulatory Call Report in accordance with regulatory requirements and other regulatory reporting as required.
• General Ledger Management & Month-end close:
• • Actively participate in the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all entries and accruals are accurately and timely recorded.
  • Prepare and post general ledger journal entries.
  • Perform complex reconciliations of general ledger and bank accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Operational Support:
• • Manage and complete the accounts payable function to ensure vendors are paid accurately and timely.
  • Manage and reconcile fixed assets, finance leases and operational leases.
  • Conduct research and resolve accounting-related issues.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve financial processes and procedures, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Write accounting procedures as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with significant experience in the banking, financial services, or payments industry, preferably within a fintech environment.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis.
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Proven ability to design and implement accounting systems.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in accounting software packages. Experience with Sage Intacct, fintech platforms and automation tools is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and rapidly changing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and integrity.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with regulatory reporting for financial institutions.
• Experience with cloud-based accounting systems.
• Familiarity with data analytics tools.

The pay range for this role is:

110,000 - 125,000 USD per year (Hybrid (Cheyenne, Wyoming, US))
