IFSA is seeking an Enrollment Counselor to directly contribute to IFSA's commitments around Inclusive Excellence and Intercultural Agility by supporting all students from the time they first express interest in studying abroad until they are welcomed by our international staff in their host country. You will serve as an expert on a program portfolio, working with students, their families, domestic and international partner universities, and IFSA colleagues to ensure that students are well-resourced and prepared for their IFSA experience abroad. The Enrollment Counselors are inclusive, responsive and service oriented as they work directly with students, families, U.S. advisors, overseas universities and staff. Incumbents in this position have an enrollment mindset, track student and university trends domestically and abroad, and report and make recommendations related to their program portfolio to achieve and exceed enrollment targets. You will also support students with the logistical, academic, and personal preparation required for a successful study abroad experience.

In this position, your responsibilities would include:
- Maintain program information and resources and manage application processes for an assigned program portfolio.
- Advise students on matters impacting enrollment decisions such as: location, program choice, program features, course selection, transfer credit.
- Respond to inquiries from students, families, institutional partners, and IFSA colleagues.
- Coach students through the pre-arrival process, including special needs, visa processes, travel logistics, academics, housing, health and safety, and cultural transitions, ensuring students are well-resourced and prepared to begin their IFSA experience abroad.
- Maintain accurate and complete student records, ensuring data integrity within IFSA's Salesforce system. Create and run reports on student records.
- Analyze data trends based on program portfolio, making recommendations for improvements to increase enrollment and ease of process for students.
- Handle complex enrollment processes like applications to host universities and course selection. Effectively communicate with colleagues across divisions and at host institutions to move students through the application process.
- Assist with the creation and revision of documents and collateral including email templates, application forms, handbooks, student advising resources and website content. Distribute scheduled communications to enrolled and prospective students.
- Operate within regional teams, flexing across portfolios when needed to ensure overall success of the Student Engagement division.
- Help to oversee Student Engagement interns, delegating effectively to ensure timely student support. Communicate with sending universities to support program approvals, affiliations, transfer credit processing, billing, and other administrative processes.
- Organize and present pre-arrival orientation sessions in partnership with IFSA resident staff to ensure effective organization and delivery.
- Partner with the Institutional Engagement team to help U.S. colleges and universities learn more about IFSA, occasionally participating in webinars and/or travelling to US institutions to promote IFSA programs, representing IFSA with accuracy and integrity.
- Participate in occasional program site visits, staff retreats, professional conferences, or U.S. campus visits.
- Other duties and projects, as assigned. These opportunities may include contributing to other IFSA site operations via remote work or working on cross-department projects or organizational initiatives.
Requirements, Work Experience and Education
- 1-2 years of work experience in sectors such as higher education, sales, study abroad, hospitality or non-profit.
- Contagious enthusiasm for IFSA's mission, vision and commitments.
- Strong time management and planning skills, with the ability to work independently and balance multiple priorities to execute time-sensitive tasks and duties successfully.
- Solutions-finding approach to work, with a goal to deliver results and continuously improve processes.
- Strong technology and software competencies, including the ability to engage with multiple systems, including our database platform, Salesforce, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven ability to work well in a team and to engage effectively with colleagues across an organization.
- Success in engaging with and supporting students with diverse lived experiences including students of color, students with mental and physical disabilities, first-generation college students, and LGBTQIA+ students.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt and thrive in ambiguous and changing situations and to shift focus and reprioritize work as needed.
- Undergraduate degree preferred. Familiarity with the USA undergraduate education system required.
- Ability to work occasional overtime in support of busy enrollment cycles.
- The legal right to work in the US.

Physical and Work Environment
- Working on a computer: placing phone/video calls, editing documents and spreadsheets, working in the student database and SharePoint sites.
- Ability to attend occasional meetings outside of local business hours, due to the global nature of our operations.
- Ability to travel independently, including via ground and air transportation, domestically and internationally.
- Ability to work overtime during the peak enrollment weeks in fall and spring, and to support other projects as assigned.
