The Daycare Floater serves as a support role within our Christian daycare, assisting teachers and staff to ensure a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered environment for children. This position helps maintain smooth daily operations by providing classroom coverage, assisting as needed, and supporting afterschool care. The Floater models Christ-like character and supports the mission and values of the school.
Key Responsibilities
Provide classroom coverage to relieve teachers for lunch breaks and planning times
Assist lead and assistant teachers with daily activities, supervision, and classroom routines
Support children during play, meals, rest times, and transitions
Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized learning environment
Assist with afterschool care, including supervision and age-appropriate activities
Model Christ-like behavior, including kindness, patience, and respect
Support the spiritual, social, emotional, and physical development of children
Follow all school policies, procedures, and state licensing requirements
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience working with children preferred
Willingness to support and uphold the school's Christian mission and values
Flexible, dependable, and team-oriented
Ability to work with multiple age groups
Ability to meet all state and school requirements (background check, training, etc.)
