Description
Performs routine public works and/or utility maintenance and repair. Performs other duties to include assisting other Public Works divisions as required.
Examples of Duties
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are typical for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competence and satisfactory performance of these duties. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Performs utility field work related to Public Works maintenance and repair. Divisions include sanitation, streets, parks and recreation, and distribution/collection
- Assist field crews with installation, repair, maintenance of parks, city streets, residential and commercial pick up, and water/wastewater infrastructure
- Drive and operate heavy equipment for divisional maintenance/repair activities
- Services equipment and City vehicles with water, gas, oil and air.
- May be required to work in other Public Works divisions as needed
- Operate equipment/tools such as pipe saws, cutters, wrenches, weed eaters, mowers, and other various items, etc.
- Knowledge and skill in the use of hand tools, machines and other similar equipment used for divisional purposes.
- Ability to repair and maintain mechanical equipment.
- Ability to perform moderate physical labor.
- Ability to understand & follow simple oral and/or written instructions.

- Must have high school diploma/GED
- Must have valid driver's license
- Must have driving record sufficient for coverage by City's auto liability carrier
