Personal Care Assistant Position

As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by providing compassionate personal care and support. Your dedication will directly contribute to their well-being and happiness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respect and uphold the dignity, privacy, and independence of residents in all interactions.
• Review and familiarize yourself with each resident's Service Plan to understand their unique needs and preferences.
• Check the Staff Communication log and resident Service Notes daily to stay informed of any changes in resident health or service requirements.
• Deliver personal care services as tailored in the resident's Service Plan.
• Assist residents with medications and treatments as instructed, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
• Respond promptly to emergency calls using the established call system.
• Adhere to infection control protocols to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
• Maintain cleanliness and comfort in residents' living spaces by performing necessary housekeeping tasks.
• Support and engage residents in social and recreational activities, promoting participation.
• Continuously monitor and report any changes in residents' health and needs following protocol.
• React appropriately to emergencies as trained.
• Report any incidents or suspicions of abuse to the appropriate authorities and supervisors.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Physical Requirements:

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Completion of in-service training is required.
• A genuine passion for working with seniors, respecting their rights and individuality.
• Ability to manage time effectively to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to interact positively with others.
• Professional appearance and adherence to dress code.
• Cheerful disposition and eagerness to learn new skills.
• Physical capability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally more, with endurance for standing or walking for extended periods.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English.
• A basic understanding of the needs of seniors is essential.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Prior experience working with seniors is beneficial.
• Experience in caregiving roles is highly valued.
