Trial Attorney

Join Allstate's legal frontline and champion the defense for both the insured and the Company. As a Trial Attorney, you'll handle auto liability and premises liability matters with frequent trials, hearings, and mediations. Beyond the courtroom, you'll provide counsel to business partners and collaborate across legal teams.

Stay ahead of emerging laws and regulations to help ensure our strategies remain sharp. This role offers a dynamic blend of challenge, growth, and meaningful impact.

Key responsibilities include managing all aspects of insurance defense litigation from case inception to resolution, gathering and organizing documents, evidence, and research for hearings, trials, mediations, and depositions, conducting legal research, preparing concise summaries and reports, drafting pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents, interviewing clients and witnesses, attending court hearings, depositions, and related legal proceedings, and monitoring changes in laws and regulations.

Education requirements include a Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the Virginia State Bar.

Minimum requirements include early-career experience in trial advocacy, strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills, effective time management skills, ability to organize case files, manage legal documents, and understand the discovery process, skilled communication with clients, and knowledge of legal ethics and professional conduct standards.

Candidates must be within a commutable distance to courts throughout Southeastern Virginia, including Suffolk, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Northampton, Portsmouth, Newport News, York, Williamsburg, Isle of Wight, Franklin City.
