Description:

Export Control Compliance Engineer

Join a dynamic team as an Export Control Compliance Engineer focused on ensuring compliance with US Export Control regulations for products and supporting documentation/records. Collaborate with diverse teams to streamline processes and contribute to cutting-edge reactor technology.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to ensure products and documentation are classified in accordance with US Export Control regulations specified by the US NRC, US Dept of Energy, and the US Dept of Commerce.
  • Work within a larger task team to develop and deploy enhancements within the Export Control management process.
  • Develop procedures and processes to utilize export control management tools.
  • Create and refine gold standard data sets for AI tool training and validation.
  • Collaborate with user teams to ensure the AI tool functions effectively.
  • Streamline the export control tagging process.
  • Understand and apply federal government regulations related to export control.
  • Assist in building the rationale for export control tagging decisions.
Essential Skills
  • Strong understanding of US export control regulations, specific to the NRC, DOC, and DOE.
  • Expert knowledge in classifying components and systems based on US Export Control regulations.
  • Experience in the nuclear industry and knowledge of reactor systems and components, ideally Boiling Water Reactor (BWR).
  • Ability to work through the rationale and methodology of classification and document that process.
  • Proficiency in compliance management, compliance engineering, and risk management.
  • Knowledge of regulations such as 10 CFR Part 810 and 10 CFR 110.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • High technical competence using common PC applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to develop decision trees and process maps.
  • Strong analytical skills focused on data organization and analysis.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Wilmington, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $90.00/hr.
