Job Summary: The Business Office Supervisor assists the Business Office Manager with the day to day operations of the business office. The supervisor is also responsible for the day-to-day supervision of Registration, Scheduling, and Insurance Verification. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Knows, adheres to, and enforces all policies of the business office Assist business office manager with supervising of business office employees and processes Provides relief and assistance to Registration, Scheduling, and Insurance Verification Must have the ability to utilize Electronic Health Care Record system for documentation to patients account/record. Acts as primary point of contact for Business Office employees in the department, filling in for Business Office Manager in their absence or when requested. Knowledge of ICD10 and CPT coding Actively works within the departments to identify development opportunities for processes and staff Follows all equipment safety guidelines and is personally responsible for knowledgeable use and care of equipment
Assists in hiring business office personnel. Provides orientation and training to all new staff. Evaluates employee job performance; counsel, and discipline as necessary. Conducts team meeting.
Perform other activities as requested by the business manager, and assume other appropriate operational responsibilities as necessary
Required Skills
Must be a high school graduate. 2-5 years supervisory experience in a medical setting such as a hospital, physician's office, or surgery center preferred. Experience working with physicians is desirable. Must have knowledge of medical terminology.
Must have excellent Customer Service and Communication and People skills.
Must have good computer skills - Excel, Word, etc.
