Data Science Engineer (remote)

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA) is searching for a Data Science Engineer for a one-year contract assignment with one of our premier SaaS clients in Austin, TX. This position is open to remote workers. Client does not permit additional layers of employment (no c2c). Client cannot sponsor visas now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement end-to-end ML models for fraud detection and risk mitigation, emphasizing high-precision classification.
• Work closely with Cyber Fraud Investigations and Data Engineering teams to establish data science frameworks and embed insights into operational processes.
• Create and automate dashboards, feature pipelines, and model scoring outputs in collaboration with various stakeholders.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in data science and machine learning.
• Expertise in ML techniques, SQL, Python/R, and big data frameworks.
• Successful history of leading impactful data science initiatives.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Role not suitable for entry-level candidates or interns; ideally 5?10 years of experience.
• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.

Hands?on Experience With AI Agents And LLMs - Preferred.

Advanced degrees are a plus.
