Description:

The combination position as the Grant Coordinator and Success Coach's purpose is to further establish and manage a Building & Construction Trades grant program and pathway that starts at non-credit and includes paths to credit and transfer into in-demand, well-paying Construction careers in the region and beyond, while building on the industry employer partnerships to ensure close connection between the needs of all workforce system stakeholders & this program and its participants to ensure well-informed development & implementation of this and future years' installments of programming along the pathway, paired with developing and maintaining transformational student interactions to promote retention and program completion while developing foundational skills for entry into career and educational pathways in this lucrative industry.

Responsibilities and Duties:

* Coordinate noncredit training for students within the Building & Construction Trades Grant inclusive of preparation of noncredit course training, securing instructors, and collaborating with credit Electrical and Plumbing Industrial Technology Chair & faculty

* Recruit program participant students to enroll in the noncredit Plumbing & Electrical workforce training and further enroll in the credit Construction Management Basic Level 1 Certificate (Inclusive of Plumbing and Electrical)

* Establish and further develop industry employer partners

* Overall implementation of program activities, grant reporting and fiscal review of grant expenses

* Recruit, coach, advise and register noncredit student grant participants to increase student retention, success and program completion.

* Case management notation practices for grant student encounters including documenting actions taken and discussions with students in meetings, emails, and phone calls, and discussions with instructors about students' progress.

* Coach students in the job search process such as: edit resumes, mock interviews, and conduct resume presentations to increase likelihood of students obtaining a job in their field of training. Develop and conduct workshops for student success in the workplace with emphasis on enhancing Employability Skills to complement Technical Skills need for industry.

* Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change based on the needs of the grant, department, and institution.
