Adjunct Computer Aided Drafting and Design Technology Faculty

Grayson College is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach Computer Aided Drafting and Design Technology courses.

The successful candidate will instruct courses in drafting technology using computers and current computer software, including dual credit, online, hybrids, and occasional weekends/evenings. The salary for this position is $675 per credit hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach no more than 19 TRS hours of Computer Aided Design and Drafting courses per long semester (Fall/Spring).
  • Develop and modify curriculum as necessary, participate in the Industrial Technology department as needed, and comply with all faculty responsibilities as outlined in college policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the campus assessment process by measuring and reporting student learning outcomes as directed to meet THECB Core Objectives and SACSCOC requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean and Department Chair.

  • Participate in professional development and stay current in both the professional field and in current teaching/learning practices.

Qualifications:

  • Requires 3+ years of professional experience as a design drafter, including orthographic projection, sectioning, auxiliary views, dimensioning, production tolerancing, and descriptive geometry.
  • Requires knowledge, experience, and understanding of AUTOCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Revit Architecture, Creo, SolidWorks, 3D AUTOCAD, Geometrical Dimensioning, and Tolerance.
  • Associate (or higher) degree with at least two years of related (non-teaching) work experience in a qualifying field (i.e., CADD/Industrial Design).
  • Preferred candidate will have at least two years of teaching experience and experience tracking student learning outcomes, analyzing resultant data, implementing improvement plans, and knowledge and experience in mechanical or civil drafting.
