Title: Team Leader, Project Management

Location: Austin, TX – Onsite 5 days a week

Salary: $85,000-$145,000

Type of Role: Direct Hire

Position Summary:

We are looking for a Project Management Team Leader to guide a dynamic group of project managers and ensure the smooth execution of large-scale, cross-functional marketing efforts. This leadership role blends portfolio oversight with people management, directing the planning and execution of creative initiatives that support enterprise-wide goals within Global Marketing. The ideal candidate will be experienced in leading complex programs, fostering team growth, and managing a broad project portfolio while maintaining quality and consistency across varying scopes of work.

Primary Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, coach, and manage a team of project managers, providing guidance on career growth and performance.
  • Promote a high-performance culture that encourages innovation and continuous learning.
  • Create and execute training initiatives to strengthen project delivery skills and refine methodologies.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, team check-ins, and evaluations to support individual and team development.

Program and Portfolio Oversight

  • Manage a broad portfolio of marketing projects, ensuring they align with strategic priorities and resources are used efficiently.
  • Direct key enterprise-level programs that deliver impactful omnichannel customer experiences.
  • Standardize project management practices across the team to drive effectiveness and streamline operations.
  • Implement governance structures to maintain consistency in project execution and delivery standards.

Strategic Guidance and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with senior leaders to influence and implement strategic initiatives.
  • Support executive decision-making by aligning project outcomes with marketing and business goals.
  • Cultivate strong cross-functional relationships to enhance program execution.
  • Facilitate strategic planning and conduct portfolio updates with leadership stakeholders.

Operational Excellence and Risk Oversight

  • Build scalable, efficient project management systems and processes for the team.
  • Identify potential risks across the portfolio and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives to elevate project performance.
  • Oversee resource planning and distribution across multiple concurrent programs.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of project management experience, with 3+ years of people management experience
  • Bachelor's degree or combination of education and equivalent practical experience in related field.
  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing project management teams
  • Proven expertise in defining project scope, goals, deliverables, and establishing RACI matrices
  • Expert-level knowledge of project management methodologies and portfolio management practices
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Workfront) and experience with multiple marketing channels
  • Strong strategic planning skills, balancing big-picture vision with effective day-to-day operations
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and executive-level stakeholders
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities with a proactive, action-oriented approach
  • Adaptability and resilience in managing changing priorities and complex projects with superior organizational skills and a focus on process improvement
