Main Function Responsibilities
A) Prepare daily purchase orders for acquisition of items with a goal of controlling vendor delivery, performance, and product quality.
B) Communicate daily and weekly requirements with suppliers. Obtain vendor delivery commitments and reconcile open order requirements. Follow up with vendor shortages.
C) Arranges the return of rejected items and ensure transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
D) Conducts supplier visits, analyzes on time delivery performance and publishes results internally and to the vendor on a monthly basis. Coordinates supplier quarterly reviews.
E) Works in conjunction with quality to analyze non conformances and acts as the focal liaison for Safran Seats USA.
F) Participates in the daily production and program meetings as required.
G) Report key performance metrics and benchmarks on a monthly basis which includes Purchase Price Variances, On Time Delivery Performance, Freight, Expedites, Shortages. Report results to the Purchasing Manager and the Director of Supply Chain Management.
H) Perform other duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements

Education & Qualification: Associate degree or equivalent experience

Work Experience - Technical knowledge: Basic understanding of ERP system. Ability to read and understand blueprints. Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.

Professional Skills: Ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment. Ability to read and review written communication. Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English

Behavioral Skills: Ability to convince, take initiative, and accept responsibility. Must be adaptable, flexible, autonomy, and available for others. Able to build relationships, negotiate, and solve problems.

Desirable Aspects: APICS certification and MRP experience (MAPICS, M3, JD EDWARDS, SAP)

Physical Demands: This position requires extended periods of sitting while working with computers and viewing computer monitors and other office equipment. Finger dexterity needed in using misc. office equipment such as telephone, computer and copy machine, etc. Bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to approximately twenty pounds are required during tasks related to the job

Work environment: The work environment includes office setting with moderate office noise. Occasional visits to the production floor and warehouse may be required.

Travel: International and/or Domestic travel required; less than one week internationally
