Description:

We are collaborating with a leading owner/operator in the multifamily apartments sector. This distinguished entity oversees around 80 apartment communities spanning 19 major U.S. cities. With a proud community of over 45,000 residents and 15,000 pets, they've achieved an impressive $9.0 billion in transactions and currently manage a portfolio valued at about $5.0 billion. Their annual revenues stand at approximately $375M, a testament to the unwavering dedication of their 800-strong team.

We're on the hunt for a seasoned VP of Program Management who will directly report to the CFO and actively collaborate with senior leadership.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement a holistic program management strategy mirroring the firm's objectives.
  2. Establish a robust program governance framework, promoting consistency and accountability.
  3. Direct a portfolio of projects, ensuring alignment with business aspirations.
  4. Deliver leadership to project managers, nurturing a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  5. Regularly evaluate project performance, optimizing strategies as required.
  6. Identify and integrate process enhancements and best practices in program management.
  7. Monitor program budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and clarity in financial reporting.
  8. Champion end-to-end project lifecycle ownership.
  9. Develop detailed project plans, ensuring alignment with the organization's objectives.
  10. Lead diverse project teams, fostering a united and driven working environment.
  11. Consistently communicate with stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  12. Oversee complex initiatives spanning multiple business domains.
  13. Spearhead the Change Management function, from initiation to continuous support.

Essential Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 15 years in program management roles, with a history of managing projects with budgets over $2 million.
  2. Proven leadership capabilities with experience in leading multifaceted teams.
  3. In-depth knowledge of diverse project management methodologies.
  4. Analytical skills with an emphasis on data interpretation for informed decision-making.
  5. Proficiency in SDLC Methodologies, Agile, SCRUM, SDLC/Waterfall.
  6. Past experience in a matrixed organizational structure.
  7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Familiarity with MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and CA Clarity PPM.
  9. Residency in Houston or willingness to relocate.

Desirable Skillsets:

  1. Over 10 years of financial leadership, preferably in the real estate sector.
  2. Adeptness in understanding business operations and supporting financial frameworks.
  3. Established network in the real estate domain.
  4. Proven management skills for large projects over $5 million.
  5. In-depth knowledge of Real Estate, economic, and business matters.
  6. Bachelor's and/or Master's degrees in Technology or Engineering.
