Customer Service Associate - Position Summary

As a Customer Service Associate, your role is to exemplify our "Ace Helpful" standards while being a key part of the team that enables our customers to have an amazing shopping experience. The two primary responsibilities of the Customer Service Associate position are to 1) greet and direct customers as they enter the store and 2) provide an amazing checkout experience, while processing purchases quickly, accurately, and according to our point-of-sale system procedures.

Major Responsibilities

• You are a friendly associate ready to help every customer and collaborate with associates.
• Greet customers as they enter the store and help direct by asking "What can I help you find today?"
• Accurately and efficiently process point of sale transactions and maintain a balanced cash drawer.
• Ensure each customer receives amazing service following the S.A.L.E.S process
• Answer incoming customer calls and use radio headset to communicate with other associates
• Maintain awareness of all current promotions and advertisements.
• Solicit customers for their Ace Rewards number and offer to open account if they don't have one.
• Participate in the Store Housekeeping Standards "Maintain as We Go" which may include:
• Orderly appearance of register area, impulse area, restocks supplies and merchandise as necessary
• Taking out the trash, dust and mop floors, clean restroom, associate room, and clean stockroom.
• Recovers and maintains merchandising standards putting away merchandise and facing on shelf / hook.
• Retrieve carts from the parking areas and pick up trash outside. Clean front patio and Garden Center.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by store management
• Completes at least 20 hours of training per year.
• Job responsibilities may change based on the needs of the business.

The requirements for this position include the following:

• High School Degree (or equivalent) or currently enrolled in high school
• A happy and friendly person with a commitment to service, excellence and being a team player.
• Ability to process information and/or merchandise quickly and accurately through the point-of-sale system.
• Ability to effectively communicate with associates and customers.
• Ability to work 3-4 shifts per week with flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business.
• Retail experience in either a cashier or sales role preferred.
• Knowledge of retail computer systems, electronic cash registers, MS Word, and Excel a plus.

Physical Requirements

The minimum physical requirements for this position include:

• Ability to stand for an extended period
• Move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store,
• Lifting product weighing 50 to 80 lbs.

Compensation Details

$12 - $14 per hour
