Description
Under general supervision of the Planning Manager, the Planner performs routine and complex work related to planning, zoning, historic preservation, and technical work in the administration of municipal government. Duties involve processing/reviewing development application submittals; facilitating use of permitting software; assisting with coordination of development applications; performing reviews of various zoning and historic preservation applications, site plans, plats, and some building permits; attending various Boards and Commission meetings; providing general administrative support to the Planning and Development Department; and other duties as may be assigned. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of planning principles, zoning, economic and community development tools, and strong analytical, writing, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will also be a servant leader with the ability to guide individuals in a firm but respectful manner.
